Electric Skateboard Colorado: the local scene

Electric Skateboard Colorado: the local scene

Split down the middle by the vast Rocky Mountains and jam-packed with national parks, Colorado is a rad place to ride an electric skateboard. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year (more than Hawaii does), outdoor activities are part of the Centennial State's lifestyle. It has become one of the fastest-growing states in electric mobility in the last few years, pushed by electric skateboards, in particular.

Colorado is located in the Rocky Mountain region, in the southeastern United States. It is home to three national parks: Rocky Mountain, the most popular in the state, with epics trails, Great Sand Dunes, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

Ride an electric skateboard in Colorado

Colorado has the third most ski resort in the US, and no doubt it is one of the best places to shred. But you don't need to limit yourself to the weather forecasts and best snowboard/skiing conditions. Electric skateboards open a whole new world of possibilities. Skating down a beautiful mountain road into the city lights is something that you can only find in Colorado. With more than 50 trails covering hundreds of miles, there's a handful of terrains that you can explore, from gravel to asphalt, on an all terrain electric skateboard or using street wheels. Riding an electric skateboard in Colorado is the best way to soak up the unique landscapes this state offers.

"I can walk three miles from my house into a full-blown mountain setting. And I can go three miles from my house into downtown with a city. I don't think there're many places at all that are like that." Colorado Cadi @colorado_cadi

Going for a shred on an electric skateboard is not only a way to explore new places. It is a great way to unwind, get your fix, and create connections. "I truly do think that electric skateboarding plays a big part in mental health. It helps people tremendously. I ride with a lot of vets. I ride with many people who have been through a lot of stuff. Going for an electric skate session helps them a lot. That's another reason I'm so passionate about it. I mean, it's something incredible. It's beyond just getting on a board and riding it" said Colorado Cadi, one of Evolve's ambassadors.

Electric Skateboard Groups in Colorado

Shared passion brings people together, and in Colorado, you can easily find riders who share the same feeling as we all do for boards sports. It's a very diverse community, with people from all walks of life, from plumbers to lawyers. From professional skateboarders/downhillers to glass shops owners.

"I can't tell who does what at a group ride because everyone's in helmets, and everyone is vibing around the boards. It's so surprising when you finally find out what these people do. For example, a guy will be waking up tomorrow going to court as a lawyer. In the afternoon, he will be out there shredding with us!" said Colorado Cadi, Evolve's ambassador, during an interview to the eChat podcast.

If you never joined a group ride, here is Colorado Caddy's #1 tip: "Just have fun with it, don’t get mixed up in the ego competition, enjoy every ride, and have patience while learning."
