Evolve Skateboards was the first company to develop the 2-in-1 electric skateboard concept so people can ride wherever they want to. Since then, these electric longboards have been gathering pace in popularity. It’s not surprising as it gives the ultimate flexibility to swap street wheels and all-terrain tires and vice-versa.
What Is An Electric Skateboard?
An electric skateboard is a personal transportation device that has a motorized pushing mechanism. It gives the rider the ability to control speed and braking with a wireless remote.
There are two main types of electric skateboards: off-road and street boards.
Off-road electric skateboards are built for riding on all types of terrain, including grass, gravel, and dirt. They generally have larger wheels and more stable than street boards.
Street electric skateboards are designed for riding on smooth surfaces, such as pavement and concrete. They typically have smaller wheels than off-road boards.
Both off-road and street electric skateboards come in a variety of styles and sizes to suit different riders.
What's special about Evolve's 2-in-1 electric skateboards is that they combine both of these uses into one board. The motor and components included in the board can handle street and off-road riding easily.
What Is A Conversion Kit?
These 2-in-1 electric skateboards come with a conversion kit, which includes a complete set of wheels, belts, gears, and covers - everything that you need to transform a street board to an all-terrain or vice versa. Each conversion kit is different, so make sure you have a read of the product description before you make a purchase. With this conversion kit, you have everything that you need to turn your off-road board into a street skateboard and back.
Why Convert?
How you use this versatile electric skateboard is a personal preference. Some riders prefer to install all-terrain tires for commuting and general weekday trips on rough surfaces, then swap over to street wheels for a buttery shredding session on a smooth road or through a scenic park path. Other riders keep one set up for weeks, then change things up for the fun of experiencing a totally different ride.
Or, you might just want to try out a different riding experience. If you usually ride a street electric skateboard, you might want to see what it's like to ride off-road. Or if you usually ride off-road, you might want to try a street board for a change of pace.
Either way, converting your off-road skateboard to an street skateboard (or vice versa) is quick and easy with the Evolve Skateboards conversion kit.
How To Convert Your Electric Skateboard To An Off Road Skateboard
Converting your street board to an off-road board or vice versa is a relatively simple process. With Evolve Skateboards 2-in-1 electric skateboards, you can easily convert your off-road board to an street board (or vice versa) in just a few minutes. In short, the process involves setting up the new wheels that you are going to swap over with bearings, then removing the old wheels from your board with a Y-tool. Then for the real wheels, you’ll add or remove each wheel’s drive gear and belt, tension the belt, apply the belt cover, and reattach the wheel. For the front wheels, it’s just a simple matter of swapping them over and making sure they spin freely and easily.

Off-Road Electric Skateboard Tips
If you're planning on riding off-road, here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your off-road electric skateboard:
Start off slow: When you're first starting out, it's important to take things slow. Get a feel for the board and how it handles different types of terrain before you start pushing yourself.
Be aware of your surroundings: When you're riding off-road, there are a lot of potential hazards that you need to be aware of, such as rocks, roots, and other obstacles. Pay attention to your surroundings and watch out for these hazards.
Dress for the occasion: When you're riding off-road, you might get dirty. Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, and consider wearing protective gear, such as knee pads, elbow pads, and helmets.
Have fun: Off-road riding is all about having fun. Don't take things too seriously and enjoy the ride!
